Broadband & Businesses

Broadband is obviously a key part to a business.

Any way of keeping in the loop with colleagues, competition and customers is a big deal, and the internet allows you to do so on a grand scale.

Most businesses say they’d prefer reliability over speed. Having checked out a number of different ISP’s, what came out top on both reliability, and speed of service, was stockton-on-tees based Odyssey Systems.

Internet: Defined

The internet is defined as the following:

Internet – A global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.

In the simplest terms possible – “The Internet” is a massive, world wide, collection of computers, all digitally linked with one an other. Each machine connected to the network has its own address ( IP Address ), and can send / receive information from other locations, no matter where it’s located in the world.

Broadband is a principle of this.  It can also be referred to as Wideband, basically, a broader spectrum of a signal, to allow greater capacity for traffic. This effectively means you have a wider scope in which you can download / upload information, be it music, videos, websites, documents, pictures, etc, faster.
